Race Report 19/11/19

The winter series of Dave Parry Fell Races continued with a good turnout of 168 for the Lockton Limping FR.  Marc Davies – so good to see him running again – came 80th in 74.59, Lorraine Hiles 97th, and 2nd F55, in 80.53 and Helen Ashworth 137th, and 2nd F50, in 91.33.

Presentations were made recently at the end of the Summer Series, and Lorraine is to be congratulated in finishing 3rd lady overall, with Helen F50 Champion.  These were not really surprising, as both have performed regularly and consistently throughout the series.  Very well done, both.

Numbers remain high at probably one of the most scenic Park Runs in the country, Fountains Abbey, with 419 finishers this week. Mike Cropper, running at his own pace this week after “pacing” last week, came 28th in 19.54, Adrian Saunders 84th in 22.44, Paul Adams 287th in 31.26, Linda Bamforth 303rd in 32.07, Diane Brown 358th in 35.27, Liz Stephenson and Ian Codling finishing neck and neck and Liz just being given the nod, 382nd and 383rd respectively in 38.17, Marian Codling 397th in 41.44.

Pete Jackson at Northallerton was 10th out of 58 in 25.05, and at Millfield, Esther Harrison was 11th out of 131, and 1st lady, in 22.24 with Geoff Bullock 29th in 25.38.  Jack Spence came an impressive 21st out of 437 at Newcastle in 19.48, and David Palmer, putting in an appearance after a long layoff for injury, was 508th out of 578 at York.
