Race Report 04/12/18

The course at Fox Rush Farm, Redcar for the latest cross country event,  was level, through woodland and over a couple of ditches, but it was also muddy, and very dragging on the legs!  In the ladies’ race, Olivia Mulligan had another good run, coming 4th out of 105 in 25.15.  Lorraine Hiles was 36th in 29.45, with Jill Libby 68th in 34.37, Rosie Gatenby 79th in 36.11 and Christine Burn 98th in 39.37.

Men over 65 also ran in that race, with Rob Burn doing well in spite of his latest injury, taking 27.22, Geoff Bullock 33.06, Ken Evitt 34.52 and Ian Codling 50.58.

The senior men’s race over a longer distance, had 149 finishers, and Ken Wood was first home for the club, 56th in 37.43.  Mick Cropper was next, 90th in 41.12, Andy Butcher 107th in 43.04, David Tervit 131st in 47.28, Craig Ivey 134th in 48.34 and Duncan Fothergill 144th in 52.42.

Fountains Abbey Park Run had a much reduced entry of 245 this week, no doubt because of the cold, damp conditions, (and Christmas shopping?), and Mick Cropper was once again in fine form, equalling his 3rd PB in a row, to come 17th in 20.13, Paul Bradford 71st in 24.00, Nigel Morgan 132nd in 27.40, Richard Easby, trying out park runs for the first time, 191st in 31.49, Gemma Cropper 204th in PB 33.38, Ian Codling 228th in 37.34 and Marian Codling 233rd in 39.01.

Peter Richardson had a good run at Catterick, finishing 37th out of 129 in 24.21.
