Guisborough Grunt Fell Race

The Guisborough Grunt Fell Race took place recently on a pleasant evening for running, with three Thirsk and Sowerby members among the 92 finishers. Steve Holloway once again finished in front, in 66th place in 67.12, with Fran Jeffery showing Hilary Coventry the ropes as they came in together, in 85th place, in a time of 76.29.  The next fell race will be the
Roseberry Topping dash this week – not for the faint-hearted!

By complete contrast, the York Millenium Bridge 5k, run in three parts and taking in the bridge and a park in York, was pretty well flat, and David Goddard, competing in Race 2, finished 39th in a very creditable 25.50 with Pam Sherlock 75th in 32.28.  Junior member, Jack Spence, competing for his second club, came in a very good 6th out of 30 in the
2.5k race in 9.45 minutes.

Arrangements are now well in hand for the annual Thirsk 10 Road Race on Nov 20th and those wishing to enter will find details of that and all club activities on
