Rob’s Weekly Blog – w/c 18/11/13

Monday 18th November.  Gym. 7pm Thirsk School. Sonja is going to try something new and I am asking you to listen very carefully. The following week she is going to be assessed so please be on your best behaviour!! We can all learn and improve together.

Wednesday 20th November. 7pm  Sports Hall. Thirsk School.  Greg once more will be with us. Paul will take the indoor run and the outside it will be 3 x 6min/ 2min rec. For those starting mid term, it would be easier to build up gradually. i.e. only do half/two thirds of the session. Its better to do a little and improve than do a lot and get injured.

This weekend is the Leeds Abbey Dash. I know one or two of you are looking for a PB.so good luck for that. There is also a xcountry at Filey.( for the men a long one.6.5 mile) This is along the cliff tops heading towards Scarborough. If it is sunny it will be good but I bet it will be cold if it is a north wind. I hear we are to soon hit a cold spell so it won’t be too long before we are knee deep in snow and experiencing the worst winter since records began. Where ever you are running I hope you enjoy it.

Keep working at it and see you soon,
Rob

Hello club members and friends of the Thirsk 10 road race. We would just like to provide a brief update to inform everybody that for obvious reasons the Thirsk 10 race will not be held in March 2021 however, we intend to reassess the situation in the Spring with a view to holding the event later in the year subject to national and local restrictions in place at the time. We apologise for the disappointment this will undoubtably cause, however I am sure that everybody appreciates that the Covid 19 Pandemic is a fluid situation with rules and restrictions seemingly changing on a daily basis. We will provide a further update in once we have been able to consider matters. Assuring you of our best intentions at all times, keep running and stay safe. The Thirsk 10 Team.
