Rob’s Weekly Blog and Training Update w/c 17/07/16

Monday 18th July. 7pm Athletic Club.

Back to normal, hopefully. Maybe on the back field so keep your eyes open.

Wednesday 20th July. 7pm Athletic Club.

Peter will be taking the session for those not wanting to make the trip over to the coast. The changing room problem has been sorted ( for a while anyway ) , not only did the cricketers take the bat and ball but they also took the key for the door. Nikki will no longer have to share the showers with the men, I only hoped they appreciated it!!

ALSO Wednesday 20th July. 7.15 ko.

The Summer Coast 5k. A Club Championship race. Enter on the night. A fast, flat 2 lap course. Should be good racing and I’m expecting to see some fast times. Lets hope for a calm night.

Congratulations to the ladies for winning the first team prize at Kilburn, I can only hope you have cooled down and it didn’t take too much out of you.

The Lakes in November. I have been talking to Ray at the Bridge and he confirms that all 21 rooms have been taken, I suggested he may want to use yellow and blue table clothes during our stay but at the moment he is keeping quiet on this one. If anyone else would like to be part of the weekend then the self catering cottages are available (with special discount rates ) only problem is you would have to cook your own breakfast but you can still be part of the group.

I have heard Peter is planning something special for the saturday morning but may involve a 4am start, Gavin has a long list of athletes wishing to do the night run over Honister and Fran is thinking of putting up a shower rota so we can have at least one shower over the weekend. Cameron may have a comment to make on this one.

See you soon, Rob

Hello club members and friends of the Thirsk 10 road race. We would just like to provide a brief update to inform everybody that for obvious reasons the Thirsk 10 race will not be held in March 2021 however, we intend to reassess the situation in the Spring with a view to holding the event later in the year subject to national and local restrictions in place at the time. We apologise for the disappointment this will undoubtably cause, however I am sure that everybody appreciates that the Covid 19 Pandemic is a fluid situation with rules and restrictions seemingly changing on a daily basis. We will provide a further update in once we have been able to consider matters. Assuring you of our best intentions at all times, keep running and stay safe. The Thirsk 10 Team.
