Christmas Handicap. Station road. First runners start at 7.20pm (Tesco end) I have explained the course at the last two training sessions so if in doubt, please ask on the night. The Athletic Club will open at 6.30 pm for both changing and toilets. You can also leave nibbles for later as it will be locked up during the race. All those who have run recent time trials will have a handicap time made up from your average time including your last handicap race.

Those who do not qualify will be given a start time, so you can slot in and join the fun with everyone else. The rules are simple. You run on the left when facing on coming runners and also wear an Hi Vis vest. If you do not do a full warm up and run your very, very best then you will not win because quite simply, you will be beaten by someone that does. There are prizes for all those taking part in any way shape or form but as always, I encourage everyone one to run because one day you won’t be able to and when that day comes then you’ll wish that you could. If the weather conditions are too bad to run on station road then we will run on the cricket field like last year.

Social run from Thirsk and Sowerby leisure centre at 7pm (meet in foyer) on well-lit paths and pavements. Suitable for all abilities; there will be several stops to run back/regroup, no-one runs by themselves or gets left behind. New and returning Tuesday night runners always welcome.
Route to be decided on the night, around 5 miles. Please wear high vis if you have it.

7pm, Thirsk School. Sports Hall. 45 minute RAF session which includes both running and core work.

7pm sharp, Kilburn Woods, Osgodby car park. Dress for the weather and bring a headtorch.

Bring a clean jumper and some beer tokens for refreshments at the Forresters Arms afterwards.

Christmas Eve run with Jody: from Thirsk and Sowerby leisure centre at 8am, around 4 – 5 miles depending on the weather, then afterwards back to Weatherspoons for breakfast.

Christmas Eve run with Martyn: from Kilburn Woods, Osgodby car park at 9am, then afterwards back to Weatherspoons for breakfast.

Message from the head-coach:

At the moment I’m putting together a hill training circuit in Kilburn woods which I used to do for my own training in the past but then I thought others may want to use it too. I’m fixing fluorescent tags on the trees for night training so I am hoping you can see them and also that they don’t get taken down. At the moment it is pretty good going because it’s not too wet but I’ll let you know how things are as time goes on.
