Don’t be a fool
Helmsley 10K Run – 1st April 10am, multi terrain race partly on road, partly on forestry track and footpaths and fields

no training on Easter Monday

Social run from Thirsk and Sowerby leisure centre at 7pm (meet in foyer). Mostly off road depending on the weather. Suitable for all abilities; there will be several stops to run back/regroup, no-one runs by themselves or gets left behind. New and returning Tuesday night runners always welcome.
Route to be decided on the night, around 5 miles. Please wear high vis if you have it. Trail shoes not essential but can be worn if you have them.

7pm Athletic Club. 3 ( 2 x 4mins/ 1 rec) 2min between sets. Big, big session but as most of you are running so well I think you can handle it. It’s time to step up to the next level so I am hoping for a big turnout.

Those of you who are marshalling tomorrow and miss a run out why not try a local charity run
Ben Campbell 5k & 10k Trail Run, Saturday, April 7 at 10am. White Horse bank, Kilburn

Let’s try again!!
The big day has arrived – Thirsk 10. Looking forward to another great race hosted by Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers. Let’s hope the snow doesn’t come back to hit us and the race goes smoothly.
RUNNERS: Enjoy the race!
MARSHALS: Cheer the athletes on, especially our own members running.
OTHER: Pop down and enjoy the day

Message from the chairman:
Looking forward to next weekend – Thirsk 10. Please can we rally together a pull off a great race.

Message from the head-coach:

It wasn’t a huge turnout ( 33 runners) for the Easter handicap but it was a cold night and those that did run managed to get their Easter Egg. Congratulations to Andy who took the trophy with yet another pb. He was closely followed by Liz and Margaret. Thank you also to the time keepers, without you it would just not happen.
Two firsts, a second, five in the top twenty and a bucket load of pb’s this last weekend must mean quite a few of you are running quite well. You can’t say the course was short because they were achieved at different venues and if I was critical I could suggest that perhaps the Lightwater 10k was perhaps a minute long because of its off road sections. On reflection all this would suggest that maybe quite a few of you could run even faster!! Think about this one! You all know who you are, and I look forward to seeing you all at our next training session. See you soon, Rob

Hello club members and friends of the Thirsk 10 road race. We would just like to provide a brief update to inform everybody that for obvious reasons the Thirsk 10 race will not be held in March 2021 however, we intend to reassess the situation in the Spring with a view to holding the event later in the year subject to national and local restrictions in place at the time. We apologise for the disappointment this will undoubtably cause, however I am sure that everybody appreciates that the Covid 19 Pandemic is a fluid situation with rules and restrictions seemingly changing on a daily basis. We will provide a further update in once we have been able to consider matters. Assuring you of our best intentions at all times, keep running and stay safe. The Thirsk 10 Team.
