Championship Heads For Rainton Then Harrogate

Tomorrow is yet another championship race. Rainton 10k. From now on they come thick and fast. Have you entered and will I see you there?
We now have an accurately measured running track ( thankyou Steve). It is 0.2 of a mile long. This means you need to run five laps for a mile. This is ideal for those who run 5mins/mile as it makes time keeping a lot easier!!. I know the surface is a little uneven in places but it has a beautiful oak tree for a start and finish line (and for putting keys, drinks etc under) and not many tracks have a run through set of rugby posts. We now have a presence. Thankyou TAC. Apparently it was marked out just over a month ago, it is only since they have added a white marker to the water we can now see it!! Along the back straight there is also a Grandstand and a finish line complete with photography for a photo finish. Sadly they have nothing to do with our new line.
Monday 25th June.  There is a race meeting. We can meet at Athletic Club ( 7pm) and we can run together as a group, to the A19 flyover where we can do a little hill work. It is a steady 10/15 min jog to the bridge.   Some of you may like to join in on the way.
Wednesday 27th June. 7pm. Time trial. As the weather is so unpredictable at the moment I thought it may be a good idea for us to do this on Station road. At least the ground under foot will be firm.
Thursday 28th June. Championship race. Leave Athletic Club 6pm. This is based at the Harrogate Hockey Club, Approx 5mile and mostly trail. It says, if wet you would be best in trail shoes. How about a pair of wellies!!It is always wet at the moment.
Next weekend Gavin is going to complete the Bob Graham round in the Lake District. (72mile, 42 peaks ) We wish him dry weather and  a blister free 24hours. Good luck Gav.
Sonja, our thoughts are with you and your sister at this moment in time. Take care.
See you all soon, Rob
