Club Information

The Club’s headquarters are at the Thirsk Athletics Sports & Social Club, Newsham Road Thirsk, YO7 1QP. The Club colours are royal blue shorts with yellow and royal blue vests. Training nights are Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7.00 pm. Both night are on Sowerby Gateway; however always check the weekly training email (see link) just in case of changes.

Some of our members..The Club encourages all members to participate in competitive events and each season members take part in the North Yorkshire & South Durham Cross Country League, the Harrogate and District Summer League, Fell Races, Mountain Running Races and the Yorkshire Dales Series.

As well as the above there are races some where within travelling distance nearly every weekend to keep members happy. Each year we have a Club Championship, the sub-committee looking after this select a mixture of races to cater for all abilities and personnel tastes, these race are age related so as to give all members an equal chance of winning. Once a month we have a time trial over a course of approximately 2 miles, each competitor has their time recorded, these times are used to set handicap start times for the Easter and Christmas Handicap races which are followed by a buffet meal.

We cater for all abilities and the Club operates an equal opportunity policy.

All members of the Club will be regarded as being ‘first claim members’ unless otherwise stated and agree to abide by the governing bodies rules.
