The Thirsk 10 has now been running for 28 years and during that time it has attracted many of the North's top runners and is arguably one of the best 10 miles in the North of England. The Thirsk 10 event is a must in anyones running calendar. If your looking for a 10 miles personal best time or an event for your first 10 miler then look no further. The Thirsk 10 miles road race has been provisionally scheduled for 30th November 2008. The route is almost the same as previous years but a few changes have been made to make the route safer and faster. The Thirsk 10 record is 48 minutes and 43 seconds so it's definitely fast course. The route is all on good surfaces and is very well marshalled with usually a minimum of two drinks stations. Mile markers are used and at the finish there is an excellent presentation for prize winners in all categories. For those not wishing to run the full 10 miles the mini marathon fun run of 2.6 miles is perfect for all, keep fit enthusiasts,  charity runners , parents and kids , and anyone else.
