The James Herriot 14k Run

The James Herriot 14k Run at the weekend is Race 10 in the Club Championship series and there was a good turnout of 20 members out of a field of 265.  The course is tough but beautiful and heavy overnight rain meant there was plenty of water around in places, with wind also a factor at times.  Stephan Tomaszewski, in his usual excellent form, lead members home, finishing 19th in 64.54, picking up the prize for the 2nd V50 male.  Rob Burn, ever consistent, came 36th in 68.04, followed by Bryan Miller, just going from strength to strength, 95th in 76.40,  Nicola Booth 129th in 79.59,  Helen Ashworth, another member in flying form, 138th in 81.57,  Pat Kirby 144th in 82.25,  and Carol Morrison 149th in 82.54.  Marc Davies and Geoff Bullock had a ding dong battle at the finish, with Marc just edging it to come 169th in 85.44 and Geoff 170th in 85.45.   Fiona Needham was next, 176th in 86.18,  Nicola Jenkins 180th in 86.46,  Hywel Smith 189th in 88.20,  Alan Wikeley 220th in 94.19,  Faith Coy 221st in 94.24,  Christine Burn 234th in 99.41,  Claire Gillan 239th in 100.43,  Cath Lumb 250th in 105.15,  Phillip Craig 254th in 106.45,  Ian Codling 258th in 112.41 and Marian Codling, definitely out of her comfort zone, 265th in 132.53.
