The final club championship race of the year. It will be fantastically wet and muddy. I would suggest long spikes!! Our true club champions, Christine and Steph will be showing just how good they are as they float over the mud. Congratulations to you both.

Lakes.  Last weekend was a tremendous bonding session, it’s where friendships and memories are made for life. I think  one of the run sessions we had 30 runners turn out but we must have a bit of a system in the showers afterwards. We can’t all shower at once!! How about using them in alphabetical order ( Burn!!)  I think we took 10 over the famous night run in the dark and I can’t believe how lucky we have been with the weather these past few years. I would like to say thank you to Gavin for letting me jog along side him on the decent, I dare not let him get away because I needing the extra light from his head torch to guide me down. I would like to think Stewart had some nice memories to think about on his long journey back to Hong Kong.

I’m  going out for my weekly bike ride, it’s not what I really enjoy but I do like to test my body from time to time. I have a little route from home ( Bagby) into Kilburn woods, beyond the gliding club and back again. It’s quite muddy, a little bit scary and a little bit dangerous in places and if I’m not running on full pulse it just doesn’t happen for me! It’s just what I like to do. I was once told by my doctor that it could be quite dangerous to push my body and heart to a very high level. I told the doctor the same thought used to flash through my mind every time I tried to milk a freshly calved heifer with sore teats, that could be quite dangerous too.

Don’t forget the Christmas Dinner (6th Dec) when all trophies are presented. Only 7 days left to practice your dance moves!! There are still the odd places left so make an effort ASAP.

See you Sunday,
Rob
