SUNDAY 26th NOVEMBER
First race in the Stockton 5k Winter Trail Series at Cowpen Bewley Nature Reserve
Barnsley 10k – road, undulating

MONDAY 27th NOVEMBER
Thirsk school 18:45 doors open session starts at 19:00.
Not had a word with Sonja yet but I guess it will be lots more of what we did last week. I didn’t think I went too well on our last session, so I was hoping to improve next time out. I think I was just a little bit tired after the Lakes, but I enjoyed it all the same.

TUESDAY 28th NOVEMBER
Social run from Thirsk and Sowerby leisure centre at 19:00 (meet in foyer) on well-lit paths and pavements. Suitable for all abilities; there will be several stops to run back/regroup, no-one runs by themselves or gets left behind. New and returning Tuesday night runners always welcome.
Route to be decided on the night, around 5 miles. Please wear high vis if you have it.

WEDNESDAY 29th NOVEMBER
Time trial night and this time you have a choice.
STATION ROAD
Please park at TAC, Lidl or Tesco and have a warm up jog to the train station. Time Trial – First starter off at 19:20 ie. from Train Station to Lidl and back to station.
Then a jog back to your car, nice to get 4 miles in your legs! However, those whom just want to do 2 miles can park at the train station.
You will need to wear a hi-vis vest and Duncan/ Craig will be sorting out the time keeping.

SUTTON BANK
19.15. Sutton Bank top start. Let’s meet in the Sutton Bank car park where we can do warm ups. Christine and I will sort out timing and I will run the course first and put a light at the turn around point. Those who have a watch can time themselves then jot down the times and then I can forward them to Duncan. We will still start at 15 secs intervals but as for both groups, if you put your name down to run then you must check out on the list before leaving for home. Again, also run on the left-hand side when meeting oncoming runners. You will need to bring a head torch but there will be an odd one spare for those who don’t have one.
Whichever one you choose all results will be used to work out your Christmas handicap starting times. I expect those on Sutton Bank (if the weather is ok!) to be almost as fast as they would be on station road. (gosh, that’s putting the pressure on!)

FRIDAY 1st DECEMBER
Looking forward to our annual Christmas Party and prize giving evening 7pm for 7:30pm meal at the Angel, Topcliffe. Hope you have your party frocks ready for a great night out. Thanks Bev for organising the evening.
SUNDAY 3rd DECEMBER
10:30am Eskdale Eureka, Car Park above Dibble, west end of High Castleton, Castleton (8miles/1500′)

Brilliant turn out last night at the Athletic Club and in the pouring rain too. It didn’t really help when all the lights went out, but I think you all stuck to what we had to do fantastically well. It was a big, big session and I hope you all gained something from it. One or two are still not quite getting their pace sorted out early on but performed better towards the end. We once did a similar session around 7 to 8 years ago on ankle deep snow and only 4 people turned out. Interestingly those same 4 people were there last night as well. Can you guess who they were?
Lakes. Yes, another great weekend and once I’d sorted the controls out for the Jacuzzi it went even better. It helps to ease those aching limbs. I again managed the night run over Honister but this was the first time I didn’t manage to run on the uphill section, the climb seemed a lot steeper than previous years. I guess I need to find an easier route!! When I checked out 17 of the 23 rooms had already been provisionally booked for next year (no money required until the new year) so if you fancy a bit of break next back end then you need to get your name down very, very soon.

I do miss that jacuzzi, have a good weekend, Rob
