David Goddard was one of over 3000 finishers in this
year's Lincoln 10k Road Race this weekend, returning to his roots. The flat
course, enthusiastic support and beautiful sunshine, gave the opportunity
for some fast times, and David was pleased with his time of 48.31,
considering his long lay-off through injury. The finish and presentations
took place in the grounds of the historic Lincoln Castle.
Sharon Keegan was the sole representative in the
more local Arkendale 10k Trail Race in its second year, and finished 228th
out of 320 runners in a time of 59.54.
About 200 runners completed the hilly 2-lap South
Leeds 5 mile race through the lovely Middleton Park and
Marian Codling took 55.17 minutes.
Following the last of the NYSD cross country
fixtures at Richmond recently presentations were made to series leaders.
Gary Dunn won the Silver Medal in the Men's category and Marian Codling got
Bronze in the V3 women's category.
The next race in the 2008 Club Championship is the
Hartlepool Marina 5 on Sunday when it is hoped there will be a good club
turnout!
