Race Reports 29th August 2008
Bank Holiday Monday saw more than 180 runners tackle the tough
2-lap Spofforth 10k Trail Race. The day was fine, but the usual car park was
under a foot of water, an indication of massive amounts of rain previouslyl.
Needless to say, the course also was muddy in places - with the odd patch of
builders rubble just to keep the runners alert! Darran Bilton of Leeds City was
the winner in 33.26, with Ernie Huck finishing 70th in 51.49, Pat Kirby 109th in
57.12, Ian Codling 125th in 59.28 and Marian Codling 183rd in 78.28. Pat Kirby's
performance earned her 1st prize in the F55 category.
The next Club Championship race is the Tholthorpe 10k on Sept 7th.
