Wild Time At York

Wild and windy weather at the weekend made life very difficult for the 1683 runners in the Brass Monkey Half Marathon based on York racecourse.  The course is flat but strong cross winds meant it was hard to achieve a good time.  Steve Middleton was the first Harrier to finish, coming 45th in a very commendable 1.20.26.  Dan Holdsworth finished 126th in 1.26.06, with Paul Atkinson doing well to be about on his target time of 1.31.29.  Les Sutton-Haigh took 1.38.03,  Alison Calvert a very good 1.44.08,  Nik Sutton-Haigh well pleased with 1.50.48,  Alan Harman 1.51.11,  Judith Seaton 2.00.22,  Jo Fambely 2.04.13,  Chris Sykes 2.06.52,  Ian Codling 2.21.22,  Eileen Howell 2.23.20 and Marian Codling 2.44.46.
Harriers are focusing now on their Thirsk 10 Road Race, to be held this year on March 25th.  The race is based on Thirsk Racecourse staring at 11 am and there is also a Fun Run, totally off-road, beginning an hour earlier.

Hello club members and friends of the Thirsk 10 road race. We would just like to provide a brief update to inform everybody that for obvious reasons the Thirsk 10 race will not be held in March 2021 however, we intend to reassess the situation in the Spring with a view to holding the event later in the year subject to national and local restrictions in place at the time. We apologise for the disappointment this will undoubtably cause, however I am sure that everybody appreciates that the Covid 19 Pandemic is a fluid situation with rules and restrictions seemingly changing on a daily basis. We will provide a further update in once we have been able to consider matters. Assuring you of our best intentions at all times, keep running and stay safe. The Thirsk 10 Team.
