The Yorkshire Marathon by Sarah Burn

The event was very well organised, marshalled and supported which was fantastic.

The weather held off (I think the forecast was originally pretty grim) but it remained overcast and a little bit windy, but nothing to write home about.

Personally I found the route quite pleasant! I’m sure others may disagree especially as ‘flat’ refers to Yorkshire flat, i.e. quite a few long slow drags up and down, but again nothing major. I thought the hill at mile 25 was great as my legs had something different to do than run through treacle!

I came in at 4:05:23 which was less than a minute shy of my PB in my first marathon, however that was 7 years and 3 kids ago, so I’m pretty pleased with that one.
Finished 1493 of 3880 overall, and 108 of 445 17-34 F.
