Race Report 23/07/19

The HDSRL Season rounded off with the Handicap, hosted by Wetherby Runners, over a tough, multi terrain course.  Starting handicap times were based on times over the previous events and 22 members were among the field of 306.  Finishing positions are given along with the actual times taken.  Josh Cooper, continuing his excellent form, came in 5th (37.52), the ever enthusiastic and competitive David Tervit 91st (45.15), Adrian Saunders 108th (46.08), Fran Jeffery 129th (49.25), Paul Bradford 166th (49.37), Stephan Tomaszewski 176th (41.41),  Chris Wordsworth 192nd (57.56), Clare Tempest 199th (51.29) Adrian Elsworth 202nd (52.20), Rosie Gatenby 206th (59.38), Faith Coy 233rd (54.56), Heather Bell 242nd (56.30), Trish Radford 244th (56.34), Joanne Hunt 255th (59.02), Geoff Bullock 256th (54.59), Margaret Wikeley 260th (68.05), Liz Stephenson 263rd (74.37), Lindsay Goom 266th (55.15), Martyn Coy 269th (48.21), Duncan Fothergill 278th (53.38), Liz Wordsworth 279th (61.11) and 
Alan Wikeley 287th (71.04).

Ian and Marian Codling were at an event which is much more to their liking, the 5k Summer Coast Run at Redcar, a flat 2-lap race along the sea front between New Marske and Redcar.  The course enables fast times, and they were happy enough with, Ian 219th in 37.09 and Marian 220th in 38.24.

380 people turned up for the weekly Park Run at Fountains Abbey, among them Mike Cropper 19th in 20.30, Adrian Saunders 51st in 23.15, Paul Adams 246th in 31.15, Jemma Cropper 294th in 34.17, Marian Codling 349th in 39.25 and Ian Codling, nursing a recently treated knee injury, 368th in 43.41.

Kimberli Werner at Northallerton came 92nd out of 113 in PB 35.51 and at Millfield, LOrraine Hiles continued her superb form to come 20th in 22.23, another effort bordering 80%, with Pete Jackson 29th in PB 23.17.

At Conygnham Hall, Gary Wilkinson was 57th out of 176 in 26.57.

Entries are coming in well for Sessay Swift 6k on Aug 21st, 7.30pm.  Get yours in, if you haven’t done so, and bring money for the bbq, fired up by Sessay Cricket Club!
