Race Report 12/03/19

A very wet start to Saturday probably meant that numbers were down for Park Runs this weekend, and Phillip Craig was one of only 49 runners at Northallerton, coming 32nd in 30.41.

At Milkbosstrand, Gillian Crane came 116th out of 376 in 35.33.

Probably about 250 or so turned up for the Fountains Abbey event, but it had to be abandoned part way through for a medical emergency.  Runners could feel reassured by the competent way this was dealt with by the Park Run organisers and the runner concerned was soon in hospital, where we hope he is progressing well.

The following day, Jill Libby was the club’s only representative at the NYSD Road Relays at Darlington, where she recorded a very creditable 16.41.

It’s the Thirsk 10 this weekend, 10 am from Thirsk Racecourse, actually starting on Newsham Road.  Please come out to support if you live along the course, at Sandhutton, Busby Stoop, Carlton Miniott, or along Station Road.

There will be a few places for entries on the day.

Hello club members and friends of the Thirsk 10 road race. We would just like to provide a brief update to inform everybody that for obvious reasons the Thirsk 10 race will not be held in March 2021 however, we intend to reassess the situation in the Spring with a view to holding the event later in the year subject to national and local restrictions in place at the time. We apologise for the disappointment this will undoubtably cause, however I am sure that everybody appreciates that the Covid 19 Pandemic is a fluid situation with rules and restrictions seemingly changing on a daily basis. We will provide a further update in once we have been able to consider matters. Assuring you of our best intentions at all times, keep running and stay safe. The Thirsk 10 Team.
