Race Report 06/08/19

Four members were among more than 5000 runners who completed the York 10k this weekend, over a course which is not completely flat, and with several right angle corners.  Clare Tempest, in good form just now, took 51.16, with Phillip Craig 59.28,  Joanne Hunt 60.34, and Caroline Pearce 67.46.

In contrast, new member Paul Chapman took on one of the tough Hardmoors races over 47k with 1100 feet of ascent.  He was 48th finisher in a very creditable 6 hours 27 minutes.

400 people were at the Fountains Abbey Park Run, with Nigel Morgan 234th in 29.06 and Ian Codling 380th in 39.19.  At the Millfield event, Mike Cropper had an exellent 4th out of 123 in 20.27 and Geoff Bullock 28th in 25.23, and Gary Wilkinson at New Earswick came 29th out of 99 in 24.33.    Pete Jackson had an away day in Ashford, coming 25th out of 290 in 22.53 and in Oxford, Rosie Gatenby was 237th out of 440 in 28.01.  Martin Cummins put in an appearance at the Crewe event, finishing 223rd out of 296.
