Blank Weekend Brings On Thoughts Of Summer

Once again, it was a blank weekend for races and members were out on training runs, especially  for those who have entered the London Marathon, with the date getting ever getting nearer.  Before then, some members will hope to be doing the prestigious Thirsk 10 Road Race on March 24th, if they can supply a marshal!
The Club Championship for the season has begun, and the cross country race at Acklam, cancelled because of underfoot conditions, has been re-scheduled for the same venue on March 3rd.  The next Championship race, though, is the cross country race at Richmond on Sat 16th Feb.  It is nice to start to think of better weather, and the Harrogate League fixtures have been announced, the first taking place at Otley on May 8th.  In a change from previous years, Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers will be involved with the organising of the League Handicap this year on July 10th for which details will be announced later.

Hello club members and friends of the Thirsk 10 road race. We would just like to provide a brief update to inform everybody that for obvious reasons the Thirsk 10 race will not be held in March 2021 however, we intend to reassess the situation in the Spring with a view to holding the event later in the year subject to national and local restrictions in place at the time. We apologise for the disappointment this will undoubtably cause, however I am sure that everybody appreciates that the Covid 19 Pandemic is a fluid situation with rules and restrictions seemingly changing on a daily basis. We will provide a further update in once we have been able to consider matters. Assuring you of our best intentions at all times, keep running and stay safe. The Thirsk 10 Team.
