There were nearly 9000 runners in the Leeds Abbey Dash, a flat out and back race allowing for good times, though the earlier start than the Guy Fawkes race meant for wetter conditions.  Brian Smith was delighted to get under 50 minutes, taking 49.52, with Malcolm Aitken taking 50.07.  Paul Adams didn’t manage to get under the hour mark, but was very happy with his PB 60.44.

The previous weekend,  Rob Lickley shone in the flat out and back East  Coast 5k at Scarborough, achieving at last his target of 40 minutes, finishing 65th out of 1500 in a superb 39.54.  Many congratulations!
