Training Week Commencing 17/08

This Week’s training from Rob:
Monday 17th/ Wednesday 19th August.   7pm.  Sowerby Gateway track.   
August is supposed to be an easier month but you wouldn’t think so with the races we’ve been having recently!! 
The training sessions start with light core work and a gentle build up of interval stuff to follow on. This is an ideal time for beginners and for those who want to get back into regular exercise before that dark, winter nights start all over again. It would be good to see you all come back. Please will all those who came last week go to the same group you trained with last week. Those returning, please wait to be placed in your speed ability group then we don’t have to swop and change around for training on the track. Simply, it’s not allowed. The groups are no larger than 12 so we could have 4 or 5 groups before too long. We need to arrive in good time for a prompt 7 pm start. 

Weekend
Long run. 60 to 70 minutes steady and easy as you like. Try and find somewhere new to refresh the mind.

Today was the first day of the Virtual World Mountain race. The going is good, dry and very fast. It won’t come any easier on such a tough course. I might not be quite hearing things properly but people are actually saying that they enjoyed it. I think around 40 have run on day one. I would hope that we could reach or even go over the hundred taking part so please, if you have not entered and were thinking of joining in then there is a tee shirt just for you!! All you have to do is to run it first. 
 Gate open tomorrow and every day at 7 am, Close at 8 pm. 
 Sorry my post is short but I’m shattered and ready for a rest. I’m going to take the start/finish gate down shortly. Call at my home in Bagby for your tee shirt if you are passing, I just might there.
