Yes, the sun did shine on Friday afternoon as we ran around Lake Buttermere. The reflection on the water of all the different colours made it one of the best moments we had ever had but then it didn’t last. Just after half way it started to rain which then turned into snow. This was pretty much how the weather stayed. But it didn’t stop us going for a run, it didn’t stop us going for a walk and it certainly didn’t stop one or two having the odd drink or two!! The run over Honister this year had 7 takers and they all did well. It was wet at the bottom and 2000′ later we were running in 6″ of snow, it didn’t matter it was in the dark and I think the 5 minutes descent was probably my best adrenalin moment since I ran down off Captains Cooks on New Years day! ( I’ve not had a good year). I could see by the look on Helen’s face that she had had a similar moment but didn’t quite like to say so when she landed in the car park shortly afterwards! I would like to say thank you to Gavin and Brett for waiting for me and to the girls for letting me take the lead and showing them the way.

I have been in touch with the Bridge to thank them for looking after us and I wished them better look with the growing of their vegetables next year, the carrot crop must have been disastrous. If you want to book for next year then you don’t need to pay any money until January, just your name for now will do. 10 rooms are already booked.
