Or

Message from the head-coach:

There are no official training sessions during the festive break but I know there is plenty going on so I’ll leave it up to you to find time and run as you please (see Fran’s earlier email).

Training starts back on Monday 7th January 2019, but I will send out details about this early next year. The first championship race is Captain Cook’s on New Year’s Day which is short enough and tough enough to blow away the Christmas cobwebs. There is also a shorter distance in the same race for junior members, it starts at the same time as the senior race, just remember to turn off before the start of the steep climb. This race is quite popular, and you must arrive early to register if you want to avoid standing in a long queue.

A brilliant turnout on Monday night for the Christmas Handicap, 46 runners, 10 or more “Little Helpers” and lots of pb’s to boast about. You can’t beat competition when it comes to fast times. Well done to Florry who was first over the line. Did you all notice she was wearing her prize at training on Wednesday night? Thanks to all those who ran and helped on the night.

I am planning to have the Easter handicap on the new Sowerby Gateway Trail (SGT). It has been a long time coming so we are going to have a bit of a party!! We will continue to alternate time trials between the Monday and Wednesday nights and also between road and trail which should give all runners a chance to put in two time trials beforehand. We should have everyone in pretty good shape by then so if you are looking for a fast time then this is the place to be!!

Merry Christmas to you all and hope to see you soon, keep smiling, Rob
