Message from the head-coach:

It was straight from the xcountry at Richmond, pack our bags and Christine and I flew out to India to join a wildlife festival specialising in Tiger, Leopard and the Sloth bear. I know it’s not every ones cup of tea getting up at 5 in the morning and out again during the night but I do like being with people who spend their lives looking after and protecting these wonderful animals. India is doing a brilliant job at protecting the tiger and in the past three years numbers have gone up around 50%. Wildlife parks are being extended, nature corridors are being introduced and most importantly of all the younger population are playing a big part in it.

Wildlife parks are not very good places to be to keep regular training up because it means going out before 5am and then you may be at risk from the odd Leopard that still may be hanging around but I did mange a couple of hill sessions within the camp. We were out late one night in the pitch chasing a Sloth bear out of a wheat field. You don’t see much, the locals get quite noisy, you don’t cover much ground but It doesn’t half get your pulse up!!

See you on Monday, Rob

Note for the diary: Lakes weekend is 15th & 16th November 2019, further details later.
