The club hosted the NYSD end of season cross country relays on a bitterly cold day on Thirsk Flatts, not ideal for hanging around during a relay event.  The ladies had two teams, Carol Morrison, Hilary Coventry and Nicola Booth having a combined time of 48.27, and Christine Burn, Fran jeffery, getting going after a lengthy injury, and Clair Gillan with a combined time of 55.54.
The men’s team of Stephan Tomaszewski, Merv Burn, Bryan Miller and Steve Scott had a combined time of 57.12.  Teamless Rob Burn went round the course in 14.40!
At the end of the proceedings, presentations were made to prize winners for the overall race series.  Pat Kirby once again shone to come 1st in the V60 category, with Christine Burn 2nd V55, and Rob Burn was 3rd in the V55 men’s section.

A week earlier, Hester Cox and Gavin Coventry were part of a 4 man team in the High Peak Marathon, a night time endurance challenge, in Derbyshire.  The race, starting and finishing at Edale Village Hall, tested navigational skills as well as endurance over peat bogs etc, and the team did well to finnish 22nd out of 44 teams in a time of 11.18.48.
