Marian’s Weekly Race Roundup – wc 17/02/14

Liam Allison had a wonderful run to finish 40th in a time of 47.43 in the recent Muddy Boots 10k race at Ripon.  He is a young new, up and coming member of the Harriers, very enthusiastic, and we look forward to some excellent results from him in the future.  Many apologies to him for getting his name wrong last week!

Prizes will be awarded for the final placings in the NYSD cross country season, with individual events now having been completed.  Christine Burn gets the 2nd F55 award,  Rob Burn 2nd M60,  Ian Codling 1st M70,  Pat Kirby 3rd F60,  Marian Codling 1st F70 and Pam Sherlock 2nd F70.  Well done all.

Ian and Marian Codling were among the 213 finishers of the Ann Johnson Absent Friends Trail Race at Cowpen Bewley Country Park at the weekend.  With all the trails very muddy after so much recent rain, and very little of the course on firm tracks, it was very much a caser of slipping and sliding along, but at least the morning was beautiful and the runners cheerful!  Ian came 193rd in 60.32 and Marian 209th in 69.41.  Ian got the prize for 2nd M70.

John Yates took part in the Jakarta 5k series race at the British International School, with the course wandering round local kampongs.  John finished 16th in 19.34, 4th O40, and just missing out on a podium place which would have won him $50!
