Hartlepool Marina 5 mile race

Eighteen members arrived at Hartlepool for the popular Harlepool Marina 5, an out and back race along the promenade, on a morning which was fine and cool with a wind which was less significant than usual.   Stephan Tomaszewski once again led the team home, finishing in fine style in 24th place in 30.10, winning the 2nd M50 prize in so doing.  Walter Busuttil was next, 40th in 30.54, with Rob Lickley, finishing ahead of his namesake for the first time, 69th in 32.30, and Rob Burn 70th in 32.35, getting the 2nd M55 prize.  Matt Jones had a good run to come 87th in 33.42, Martyn Coy, another runner who just keeps improving, 115th in 34.57,  Graham Robinson 127th in 35.21,  Steven Scott, also showing continued improvement, 145th in 36.37,  Geoff Bullock 154th, and 2nd M65, in 37.07, Paul Goacher 200th in 40.12,  Marc Davies, in his first outing in club colours, 204th in 40.29, Clare Goacher 240th in 43.39,  Faith Coy, yet another showing great improvement, 246th in 44.04,  Cath Lumb 303rd in 49.32,  Ian Codling 306th in 49.59, pleased to achieve his target time and finishing in a tight, competitive sprint just ahead of Sarah Goacher, 307th in 50.02, Bev Davies, another club first-timer, 324th in 53.50 and Marian Codling 329th and 2nd F70, in 56.24.  348 runners completed the race, the latest in the Club Championship series.
