Darlington 10k 2013

The popular and friendly Darlington 10k had 21 Harriers among its 1258 finishers on a fine morning for running.  The fairly flat, 2-lap course gives runners a chance to aim for a personal best time, and Steve Middleton certainly had a very good time, finishing 21st in a high class field in 35.14, with Stephan Tomaszewski 76th in 38.23,  Rob Burn 168th in 41.26, Graham Robinson, running well just now, 280th in 44.14,  Rob Lickley, improving with every run, 291st in 44.29,  Nicola Booth 390th in 46.35,  Steve Scott, another runner who shows continued improvement, 410th in 47.05,  Geoff Bullock 440th in 47.41, Rebecca Hartley 527th in 49.10,  Pat Kirby 544th, and 1st F60 prize winner, in 48.54,  Paul Goacher 550th in 49.53, Fiona Needham 561st in 49.42 (the discrepancy here arises through the difference in finishing order and chip timing), Marc Davies 565th in 50.10,  Stuart Waters 608th in 50.55,  Brian Smith 628th in 51.12,  Christine Burn 908th in 56.50,  Chris Sykes 926th in 56.07,  Richard Easby 1010th in 58.42,  Phillip Craig 1093rd in 61.58,  Ian Codling 1094th in 63.22 – his best time for ages, and Bev Davies 1184th in 67.55, a personal best for her.

Many apologies to Fran Jeffery for missing her name off the Blakey Blitz Fell Race report last week.  Having shed “blood, sweat and tears”, she finished 68th in 136.09!
