Fell Training : The Dreadmill
During the long, cold, dark winter nights of long ago, it was to dark to venture out onto the
fells after work for fell training.
So i invented the Dreadmill. This entailed getting some of your old fell shoes and taping various
sized pebbles to the bottom of the soles, then jumping onto a treadmill. Incresing the gradient
and in no time your stumbling all over the place just like a real fell run. For that added extra realism
you can increase the speed until you can't stumble fast enough and inturn go flying off the end of the
dreadmill. Great for falling training .
Oh! Be careful to tape those pesky pebbles on securely as one of mine flew off and laid a weight lifter
out. Ten year ban i got from those jobworths at the gym , ruined my training for that year it did. I'm
pretty sure i would of been National Fell Champion that coming season. To be honest i think the great Joss
Naylor used my new invention as he had a fantastic season.
Hopefully we will have more valuable information from Billy Cramp-up next week.
