Absent Friends Race At Cowpen Bewley

Alan Harman led home the Harriers runners in the popular Snake Lane 10 Road Race on a cold, fine morning with almost ideal running conditions. The mainly flat course, snaking along “Snake Lane”, goes through rural countryside before finishing in Pocklington Town Centre, and Alan completed the course in 1.21.56, 469th out of 752 entrants.  Ian Codling came 714th in 1.47.17 and Marian Codling 747th in 2.01.43.
The previous week, the Codlings were at the Absent Friends race, organised by Billingham Marsh House Harriers, at Cowpen Bewley, a lovely woodland park.  Ian finished the hilly race 140th in 40.09 and Marian 153rd in 57.22 – before they went on the do the cross country race at Richmond in the afternoon, as reported last week.
The next cross country fixture in the NYSD League is at Acklam on Mar 3rd, and this re-arranged race is the next one in the Club Championship series.  All members are eligible, and encouraged, to take part.
