T10 Update 22nd March

Thirsk 10 starts 11 a.m.
RACE UP DATE, MAJOR BUILDING WORKS AT THIRSK RACE COURSE PLEASE CHECK INFORMATION BELOW ABOUT CHIP AND NUMBER COLLECTION, THIS HAS CHANGED.
Thankyou for entering the races, organised by members and friends of Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers, and incorporating North Yorkshire Veterans 10 mile Championship.  
Please read and note the information below.
The run is based on Thirsk Race Course on the A61 between Tesco and Thirsk Station.
Car park – Please follow signs.  DO NOT use the main racecourse entrance.  You will not be able to leave the car park after the 10 mile race until 12.45 p.m. so as not to impede the progress and safety of later finishers.
Facilities – toilets and refreshments available.  Sorry, no showers.
First aid – Red Cross will be in attendance.
Late entries – available until 40 minutes before the start of the race at no extra charge. the Late Entries will be in the room opposite the Grimthorpe Room and do qualify for prizes.
Baggage Storage Area will be available but Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers will not accept responsibility for any contents or loss.    
Postal Entries – Race numbers are enclosed, collection of Race Chips – These will be distributed in surname alphabetical order from the collection area in the Room  on your left as you leave the car park, follow the signs please.
On-line entries – Please collect your number and your chip from the Room on your left as you leave the car park Please follow the signs and allow plenty of time.
Race Numbers – please fix this firmly with 4 pins to the FRONT of your vest or shirt.  It is a mandatory rule you fill in the medical details on the reverse.
No chip, no tee shirt.
Thirsk 10 – the course is fast and flat, fully on roads, and lends itself to a fast finishing time!   Do not warm up on the race course itself.  Please assemble for the start 20 minutes before the race as directed by the race marshalls.  You will be walked to the start.  You may wish to wear a disposable bin bag or the like if the weather is cold.  Supporters wishing to see the start of the race will need to be well up Newsham Road.  
Please keep to the left at all times and follow marshals’ instructions. Note that the roads will be open to traffic and ipods should not be worn. You are responsible for your own safety.  Dogs are not allowed in either race.
Water stations – 2 on the 10 mile course and water available to all runners at the finish.
Finish – on the race course. Note – there is a sharp turn into the race course just before the finish.  Tee shirts and water available beyond the finish – please pass through this area quickly to make room for later finishers.
Prize giving – for the Thirsk 10 and for the Championships Races will be as soon as possible after 12.45 p.m
